Many environments don't lend themselves to long-term therapy. Whether you work in a community agency, school, or other fast-paced setting where the frequency or length of sessions is limited, it is still possible to help clients maximize their lives. Learn how to harness a workability and acceptance based model to promote real change in as little as ONE session. This training will teach you how to work with individuals in a brief context, from a single session to four (and beyond). Designed for students and professionals in the mental health field. No prior background or experience is required. The style of this workshop is approximately 60% experiential learning, 40% didactic learning.
Upon completion of this workshop, attendees will be able to:
- Conduct a functional analysis during first contact with clients
- Facilitate acceptance and mindfulness based brief interventions
- Describe history & benefits of brief therapy
- Develop session protocol and plans for one through four sessions (and beyond)
