Many environments don't lend themselves to long-term therapy. Whether you work in a community agency, school, or other fast-paced setting where the frequency or length of sessions is limited, it is still possible to help clients maximize their lives. Learn how to harness a workability and acceptance based model to promote real change in as little as ONE session. This training will teach you how to work with individuals in a brief context, from a single session to six. Designed for students and professionals in the mental health field. No prior background or experience is required. The style of this workshop is approximately 30% experiential learning, 70% didactic learning.
Upon completion of this workshop, attendees will be able to:
- Apply functional analysis to client populations
- Utilize Acceptance & Commitment Therapy based skills in initial meeting
- Develop session structure and plans for one through six sessions (and beyond)
- Apply the use of functional contextualism metaphors within session
